Alex Harten represents public and private sector unions and their members across the full range of labor and employment matters, including grievance arbitrations, disciplinary appeals, collective bargaining, and matters before the Public Employment Relations Board and the National Labor Relations Board. She brings a strong foundation in appellate advocacy, litigation, and regulatory compliance, developed during her time with the California Attorney General’s Office and San Diego County District Attorney’s Office. Earlier in her career, she conducted federal regulatory compliance analysis, producing reports relied upon by federal district and Ninth Circuit courts in decisions regarding the treatment of immigrant children in federal custody.
Alex received her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law, where she authored six articles for the California Regulatory Law Reporter and was honored at graduation with the Consumer Protection Policy Center’s Outstanding Public Interest Advocate Award. She also maintains an active focus on the intersection of law and technology. As a post-graduate AI Research Fellow at USD School of Law and a graduate of UC Berkeley Law’s AI Institute, she works to bring emerging tools to legal research, case management, and the evolving questions facing labor law.
Raised in Sun Valley, Idaho, Alex spends her free time skiing, hiking, fly fishing, and white water rafting.
