Raquel Ortega practices labor and employment law representing and advising private sector unions and public employee associations. Her expertise includes collective bargaining, state and federal labor law and regulations, employee discipline and termination, contract interpretation, employment leave issues, wage-hour compliance, and discrimination and harassment laws.  Her expertise extends to issues arising under the National Labor Relations Act, the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act, the Family Medical Leave Act/California Family Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Fair Labor Standards Act and many other laws that affect California employees. Ms. Ortega has conducted in-house training seminars on topics such as grievance administration. 

 

​EXPERIENCE

Ms. Ortega has experience in state and federal courts and appeared before various governmental agencies including the National Labor Relations Boad, the Public Employment Relations Board, the California Labor Commissioner, the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board, and the California Unemployment Appeals Board.
