NELLIE TORRES KLEIN
Attorney Nellie Torres Klein represents public and private sector unions and their members in arbitration, discipline appeals and other administrative hearings. Previously, she worked for the United States Department of Justice as an Honors Attorney, Attorney Advisor, Supervisory Attorney and then Senior Counsel. Before coming to the firm, Nellie represented immigrants, asylum seekers and refugees seeking a new life in the United States. She also worked as an advocate representing individuals suffering from behavioral health disorders in certification review hearings before the San Diego Superior Court.
Nellie is the proud daughter of Mexican immigrants. Her father, a former union meat cutter in Los Angeles, witnessed her being sworn in as an attorney by the same federal judge who swore him in as a United States Citizen. Her parents instilled a strong work ethic and commitment to serve others. Nellie is fluent in Spanish.
