Raquel Ortega practices labor and employment law representing and advising public employee associations and private sector unions in the full range of issues related to the employment relationship. Her expertise includes state and federal labor and employment law and regulations, including wage-hour compliance, discrimination and harassment laws, employee discipline and termination issues, employment leave issues, workplace violence issues, employee relations and collective bargaining, employee and privacy issues, and litigation. Her expertise extends to collective bargaining laws, the Family Medical Leave Act/California Family Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Fair Labor Standards Act and many other laws that affect California employees. Ms. Ortega has conducted in-house training seminars on employment topics such as sexual harassment.

Ms. Ortega has experience in state and federal courts and appeared before various governmental agencies including the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, California Labor Commissioner, Workers' Compensation Appeals Board, and the California Unemployment Appeals Board.
